Hi Mahmoud!

Please clarify the details: the number of rows, columns and cells as a result of the request, as well as server log information. We checked the export in Excel on simple queries, it works on 500K rows. Can this request be repeated on our demoserver?

Best regards

Petr

Export to Excel / XML is always performed on the server. The stability of the export work directly depends on the web server hardware resources (primarily the amount of RAM) and the load that users create in the web application. In addition, it is important how rarefied the cube data is, as the number of processed cells depend on it.

We planned to limit the amount of data processed in the pivot table, prompting the user to configure filters (as it was done when displaying data in charts). But later we abandoned this idea, since it is possible to limit the user's capabilities significantly. In order to prevent problems in all working instructions, we recommend you to use filters, thus, application’s speed and stability will be provided.

Thanks,
the number of row is 250,000 and the number of columns is 9.
as you say it depend on server ram, then how to estimate how much ram i need on the server, currently i have 8 GB Ram.

I already advised the user to minimize the records to extract but at some cases it's business need.

So kindly advice.

Thanks
Mahmoud

Hi Mahmoud!

Refactoring of export to Excel in the plans future version, the priority of task is low. Perhaps some corrections have already been made, since the test for 354K rows and 12 columns passed. The new version is scheduled for release through the May-June 2020.

Best regards

Petr
