Feature requests in regard to branches

Dear support,

even though we (audimex ag) are not (yet) customers, we propose two feature requests:

1. Ability to configure branches directly in a web app:
I understand the reason for the XAS app, but when trying to intergrate your modules in a system that was not created with XAS in mind, it would be cool to have the option to configure the branches directly in a web app as well.

2. Read mode during login (or user branch relation if login is not possible) instead of global flag:
In our app we have users of two different groups: Both need to work on multiple branches, but one group wants to see data only from the branch where the user is logged in (most of the time), while the other group wants to see and edit data from multiple branches always.
The most flexible and preferred option would be if the user could choose the read mode during login. Another approach would be to set this option in the "user to branch" relation.

Please let me know what you think of these requests and whether or not you consider them. Also in case you can't or won't consider them for Xafari, please let me know if you would consider to implement them (especially the second one) for us as part of a development service.

I will be on vacation for 3 weeks and check back afterwards.

Hello Bernd!

We can add configuration for web forms. But we must warn that in the future in new versions of Xafari we do not plan to develop them.
But we will accompany support for web platforms on version 11 of Xafari.

To answer your second question, we need to examine your task in detail. Because it may concern security issues. Please formulate the Terms of Reference in more detail. We also need your data model.

Could you please specify in more detail what you mean with:

We do not understand the consequences for our development now and in the future.

Hello Maryia,

do you have any updates for me? What I don't understand is the warning in your statement. Do you mean that we will net be able to update to version 12 or just that you won't further develop the configurtion for branches in web forms but we can still update in the future without problems?

And what about our requirements in regard to branches? Do you consider those or are they too specific or problematic to implement?

Hello!

Sorry for the delay in responding.

We will not develop a branch configuration specifically for web platforms. The branch itself will continue to be supported and updated in the next version of Xafari.
Instead of a standard web platform, we are developing another solution.
It is a client-server application with the ability to connect various application servers, which provide the client with an understandable API for receiving metadata and data.
This is currently under development.

About your requirements, we will reply you on Monday.
